Summer 2019 there will be a dog friendly area added on the south side of the patio
I do not believe they do . Regardless, it is worth the trip
Great 🍕 Piiza! So delish! Perfect amount of sause & cheese.
The pizza was quite flavorful and nice. Cook perfectly. The crust stands out and everything tasted fresh. We rather enjoyed the patio, where they welcomed my bird to join us. He was a big fan of the crust. (The red umbrella was casting color on the pizza, pizza has regular coloring)
Juaquin and Kim gave such amazing customer service! Matthew made a perfect pizza that met our needs for being picky a** people. The food was awesome. Thanks for serving food during pandemic times. I wish I could dine in because the atmosphere is so cute. The patio is even cuter. Unfortunately, the dog area is closed for the time being. Also shout out to Julia for having an awesome playlist. The music was on point. And the individual slices of pizza are HUGE (bigger than most personal pizzas) . I couldn't eat the whole slice by myself. An amazing hidden gem (with vegan options).
This place has legit pizza, I just ordered a slice and can’t finish it! The crust is not super thick nor is it super thin, it’s just right. And I need to comment on the customer service, everyone in there (even customers) were really friendly
The food was very good, the pizza top notch and the salads were also great! However, they do not accept vertical IDs here for alcohol which I found quite irritating. This is not a law in the state of New Mexico, however the waitress claimed it was.
My wife got a salad and I got a pizza. Salad was amazing! Pizza was good but not great. Could use more toppings for the price.
Very good pizza and great beer selection.
The whole pizzas are larger than you would think and the 12 inch does serve 2 to 3. The pizza slices are very substantial and the toppings are generous . We found the house salad was very nice and the house dressing was delicious. Very nice pasta with sauce, just superb. Melanie was an excellent and attentive server. We strongly recommend this off the path establishment for a great Taos experience.
Pizza and service were good. Price was high especially for a glass of wine. Their famous pesto dressing was just ok and not worth the cost.
This restaurant is a hidden gem in Taos. The handmade pizza dough includes sesame seeds, and the pizza varieties are awesome. The salads are delicious too - try their walnut pesto salad dressing! During COVID, all the seating is outdoors and well spaced, and the entire staff wears masks and gloves. (The fenced yard area has a great vibe and is well back from the highway. The music was great too.). The place was packed at 7:30 p.m., and there was only one waiter. It took a while to get our food, so don’t go if you are in a hurry. Take your time and enjoy this place!!!
On a night that the kitchen was backed up, we had some very friendly service, great food, and an overall enjoyable evening!
Hip vibe and great beer offering!! The pizza is AWESOME!! Can't wait to go back!!
Amazing service I didn't have to ask for anything the employee would like read my mind they are infant friendly too lol even brought my baby extra plate and small to go cup without me asking she loved that she had her own cup😁...love the paper and crayons in the tables, wall were colored to so my baby drew her art as well ...food was so good loved my huge slice of pizza and the pastas are finger licking! WOULD DEFINITELY RECCOMEND!!ITS WORTH IT 🍕🍕🍕
Came in here a little over two years ago to meet my cousins for lunch. We took a roadtrip from Denver to Taos. This is the place they recommended. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the patio looked cozy. Our waitress was so kind and put two tables together for us. Our son was seven at the time and they gave him a ball of dough to shape and cook. Their pizza didn't knock me off my feet but it was very good and I would like to come back again to remember exactly how good.
Great place.. Great pizza! And great atmosphere! Try all the beer...
I just want to thank all of the generous customers that have gone in during this pandemic. This to shall pass. You all make my job as a server so rewarding. Please come back in when all this is over. I really do appreciate you.
Ate here in July of '19. Gotta say, hands down, the BEST pizza I've ever had. I would highly recommend.
Not your normal pizza joint. They have all kinds of stuff to put on your pie. They also specialize by the slice. Unless your a big eater one slice is all you need! The crust is a little more unique too. If you like pizza the way I do, that you need it about I've a week, then this is a must in Taos!
Made a trip to Taos recently and stopped by Taos Pizza Outback. I was blown away by the food, the service, and the atmosphere. It has a dog friendly area too! The carnivore pizza was amazing and fresh. I could drink the salad dressing with a straw! We actually ate here twice during our 4 day visit. Try the Taos Alfredo! Soo good! The new owners have done a great job with this place and I can’t wait to visit again!
The worst experience by far. Came to try out this what seemed to be good pizza place. Apparently you need to “white“ to be served at this location. Two families sat after our party and were served before us. The waitress clearly made it a point to ignore us. I will make sure to not send friends and family here. It’s embarrassing to know that grown adults have this mentality.
Took a trip into Taos and taos pizza outback was recommended by many. Let me say in the 4 days we were there we ate there twice and could have been every day. There is so much to choose from on the menu and it was all delicious. The staff is so friendly and works very hard for as busy as this place can get. The pizza slices are huge and you wont leave this place hungry. Outback has great beers to choose from on tap! Can’t wait to be back and hangout at the taos pizza outback!
Patio just opened. Good food.
Get place love the pizza.
Great for dairy free pizza lovers too! My non-vegan dad and vegan self both loved the pizza here and the service was great. They can do individual (huge!) slices of vegan pizza with soy mozzarella (for a small additional charge). I would eat here every day if I lived in Taos. The short drive from downtown is totally worth it.
We love the pizza, but the service is so bad I don't know if it's worth eating here. We were sitting at the table for 50 minutes, before I went to go check on our order. When we finally found our waitress, she asks if we still want the order because the kitchen lost it. Part of the order finally arrived at the table after 70 minutes, and chicken Alfredo was so watered down, I would harldy call it an Alfredo sauce. Still had to wait for the pizza, and it's been 80 minutes and still no sign of it. The worse experience ever. Will never be back. :(
Super Awesome customer service! Thank you Wakim! The breadsticks and pizza was amazing. Lemonade is a must have! We’ll definitely be back every time we are in the area!
The perfect New Mexican ambience for all of the Breaking Bad fans. Wendy vibes from the waitress and Skinny Pete in the kitchen. Pizza like it was made to be thrown on a rooftop.
I used to come here after climbing or boating few years ago. Now it’s too slow and the service was pretty suboptimal. It wasn’t a complicated order. I won’t come back!
Despite covid, outback was still making pizza. We had to wait about an hour, but the pizza and salad we got was good and the staff was friendly and courteous.
The food is pretty good (especially if you like a THICK crust) but our service wasn't the best. The server seemed young, inattentive, and distracted, but wasn't rude. It's fun to be an adult and play with crayons while waiting for your food.
I visited here 25 years ago and haven't shut up about it since. I finally found my way back to Taos and had to try it again. It's amazing pizza. The crust is spectacular, and you should definitely ask for some of their house dressing to use as a dipping sauce. You can of course build your own, but they have a bunch of specialty pizzas. You can get a custom slice (they are huge) or whole pizzas. There was a steady stream of people carrying out while we ate, which is a testament to its popularity with locals.Staff were all super nice, service was great, food was great. Hopefully it won't be another 25 years before I find my way back.
Pizza was ok. Not amazing. Service was really slow and it wasn't particularly busy. Atmosphere is very chill and relaxed but we were really hungry. Waiting 50 minutes for our pizza was just odd
The 4 year old says "it's really delicious. I love dessert and icing"....us adults say service and food is great! Great family atmosphere.
Not bad, nor incredible. Crust looks extravagant, artisanal, but is crying out for some butter and/or honey. Toppings look wholesome and fresh, flavor didn’t quite match expectations. Fat and salt profiles are rather weak. These folks are obviously taking the time and effort to design and build quality pizza but just need a little nudge in the right direction toward flavortown.
We go every time we are close. Pizza is always good. Sometimes it is off the charts good though.
Despite a little disorganization of the front of house staff (didn't write our names down for a table on a busy night, forgot one of my drinks I ordered) the quality of the pizza made up for it all. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for good, quality pizza.
We loved pizza outback!!! I am dairy free and gluten free. Their gluten free crust was wonderful. The soy mozzarella was to die for. It exceeded my expectations and tasted like normal pizza. I would go back any time we are in Taos. The atmosphere there is really cool. I loved the antique feel to the place. The staff was friendly and attentive to our needs. I hadn't ate pizza in 5 years because of my allergies. This was the best day ever!!
If you want good pizza, you can't do better that going Out Back. They are huge (our 12" was enough for two people, with some left over to take home)! More important, they are delicious! Our 12" pepperoni had a delicious crust, ample topping, and lots of cheese. Clearly a favorite with locals, and easy to see why.
First time visit for us and it was worth the price and trip up to Taos. We ordered our pizza to go but the restaurant was welcoming. We ordered a customized pizza and it was great! Best pizza we’ve had in NM. Must try! We will be back ☺️.
My friends were treated terribly at Outback Pizza! The waitress acted really racist towards them and ignored them because they were not white. I had always recommended this place to friends and family, but after hearing about their experience I will never eat here again!! Your lost a loyal customer this evening. In reply to the owner’s comment:Well, when you ignore the Native American/Hispanic couple and serve two Anglo families who were seated after them, then that in my book is a racist act.
Great service, incredible food.
Simply amazing place that has a charming atmosphere and amazing food along with unique and tasty different microbrews
The pepperoni pizza was delicious, the kids and adults both loved it. We were visiting Taos for the night and got in around 9pm and they where one of the only places still open on a Friday night for take out. The service was fast and friendly and we would like to visit again next time we’re in town.
We ordered a custom pizza. Once the pizza arrived it was okay but it took an hour to receive our pizza. Parking is difficult to find and customers block the way in and out with parking. We had three separate servers come and ask us the same questions. Food is okay, customer service is okay, timeliness is not.
Never have we been so totally ignored by multiple waitresses... 30 minutes for drink orders then nearly 2 more hours for 2 slices and a salad... We were treated like we had the plague... Pizza was OK but mean nasty waitresses...
Chaos. Carry out order, told 40 minutes so I came at 40. Waiting 30 minutes and counting and unsuspecting customers being told 40 minutes on the phone. The gal at the counter is doing everything including tending bar, taking calls, and assembling orders, while others stand around. The pizza looks good and I may update this review if I ever get to eat it.
A Staple for Pizza in Taos. We feel as if we are cheating to go anywhere else the love affair with this pizza goes so deep. Slices are huge and a great value. They are loaded with toppings including the ever present Green Chilis that give it the distinctive NM vibe and flavor. Not overwhelming, just a good combination that accentuates enough to let you know.Outdoor seating is excellent though I would love to be able to bring our dog (Perhaps there is a story there?) However, no matter it is excellent otherwise inside and out.Service could use some training, small incidents add up and delay orders. They're doesn't seem to be an experienced front of house manager, if at all. Pretty sure they don't share tips and it shows. One in the weeds the other bussing tables with no wait. Have witnessed staff freak out on rare occasions on less than 3-4 tables. Not good. Nonetheless do and enjoy them you have the time.
Pizza is sooooo good. Hope you brought your appetite... The menu has a little bit of something for everyone - when it comes to pizza. Also, pasta and salad.
Fantastic pizza, their specialties are out of this world! Staff was friendly and helpful
This place was yummy! Plenty of food for a great price. Different flavors on some of their pizza's but I would go back if I was in town. Its vrry kid friendly as well. They have not only pizza but some pasta and some amazing salads.
